Sustainable Energy Development Project set to feed thousands in State of Delaware says 360WiSE
The Harvest Outreach People Project is exactly the kind of ministry that disciples of Jesus Christ can be involved in that might truly transform the world, proclaims Bishop LaTrelle Easterling, the episcopal servant and leader of the Baltimore-Washington and Peninsula Delaware Conference before a hybrid audience of Delaware leaders as she prepares 1,019 churches from Delaware to DC to implement a Mission Centered Strategy that will create access to opportunities that will address disparity gaps in our communities from poverty to health to violence.
The Harvest Outreach People Project will create access to food, social services, and technology by utilizing the connection of our local churches and the location of church buildings in the community as a central place to connect people to opportunities partnering with other churches, organizations, and local nonprofits to provide services that are most critical for the area where we are located.
Cora Coleman for Building Simple Inc., sustainable and repurposed material community developer and Desmond Baker, veteran sustainable engineer, architect, and community leader for Desmond Baker and Associates LLC will lead the development project, along with consultants Jeffrey Richardson, President, and CEO of Imani Energy who is a professor in the Africana Studies Department at the University of Delaware and Dr. Cheryl D. George of Seed Financial LLC. The Groundbreaking and Fundraising Celebration for (HOPP), The Harvest Outreach People Project Resource Center and Marketplace will be held at 330 E. 30th, Wilmington, DE 19802 on Sept 22, 2022, at 10 am, says Robert Alexander CEO of 360WiSE.
“It is our mission to connect people from place to place hoping to restore dignity, health, and opportunity, within our communities by building ongoing relationships between people and nonprofit agencies”, states: Rev. Dr. Tracy Mooney, Board of Directors, Co-Chair of The Harvest Outreach People Project, better known as “THE HOPP”.
Over the first twelve months of distribution, The HOPP served 329,000 pounds of food, 50,000 PPE products, and 15,000 blankets through 27 United Methodist Churches, with 10 nonprofit and 2 for-profit partners in Delaware’s New Castle County. The HOPP received a grant from the Longwood Foundation and Richardson Park which will enable them to build their first of three 5000 sq ft buildings on the land called “The Clarence Fraim Annex.” The land was acquired by Peninsula McCabe Church, which is pastored by Tyrran Smith, says Robert Alexander, CEO of 360WiSE.
